Theatre Artist
With a passion for culturally specific and new work, Miles has worked within the Chicagoland area for over 8 years. From devised theatre to one person shows, the work Miles engages in spans from corner to corner of the art as well as the city. His one person show "Authenticity"- which he both wrote and performed in has played across Chicago to rave reviews, with audiences calling it "a triumph for Asian-American voices in theatre." The run of his show concluded in Chicago's Meuseum of Contemporary Art.

Miles is drawn to the theatre because of the light that theatre provides. At its essence, theatre is a vehicle for change. Whether change of heart, mind, or soul, theatre forces empathy and creates windows for us to see others through. Miles has let this philosophy steer his artistic ventures. From performing on stage at Tony award winning theatres like The Goodman and Lookingglass to museums to community spaces, Miles has had the privilege of holding and creating space with almost every form that theatre can take.​

As the embodiment of Chinese Authenticity, ZhÄ“nshí Xìng has seen it all. From silk to porcelain, she has spent thousands of years designating items her creator sends to her as Authentically Chinese and spreading Chinese culture. But after thousands of years, culture changes, but does the meaning of authenticity change along with it? A thoughtful, yet sharp commentary on authenticity, who determines it, and why it matters, AUTHENTICITY follows ZhÄ“nshí Xìng through her centuries of life and her desire to see the world.

What makes someone Chinese? Who decides if you are or aren't a certain race if you're mixed? These questions are the basis for a dinner table argument betwixt Austin, a half-Chinese, half-White teen and his fully Chinese father. What starts as a friendly conversation turns into a heated debate that brings into question how others, even his own father, see Austin's race, ethnicity, and ethnic experience in America.
